Day 45 – Dundee, OR (Day 4)

This was a stick around home kind of day.

The Route
None.

About Last Night
We settled down for the night around 9 pm.  We watched TV and worked on the blog.

Carol was getting ready for bed and discovered some of the day’s rain had leaked onto the bed.  We found a leak around the rear ceiling fan on August 25th when we were in Taos and thought our temporary fix was working ... so much for optimism.  The past three days of heavy showers proved us wrong.

We redesigned our fix and applied it with a trash bag and duct tape.  There have been no pesky drips since then.

About the Day
We woke up a little late because of being up late with the leak repair.

The morning was beautiful.  It was mostly sunny and calm.  Deer wandered through the yard.
This little one was about 30 ft away.

We were encouraged by what appeared to be a wonderful new day.  Clouds moved in around noon and the rain began around 3 pm.

Carol watched William while Barbara took Lucy to school.
Farmer William
Check out those curls!

Dick went to Tualatin to get a wireless adapter for Lucy and William’s computer.

Kenny, William and Dick worked on reassembling a play set for Lucy and William.  They made good progress, but work ended prematurely when the rain began.  It was a great example of three guys who were smart enough to come in out of the rain.

Carol and Barbara went out for lunch and shopped for dinner.

Lucy and William played.
They were real basket cases.
We had a delicious diner of smoked chicken, rice, corn on the cob, fresh tomatoes and strawberries.
Kenny fixed dinner.

Car Repair
We didn't get an update today.

The Evening
We settled down for the night around 8:30.

Our 1st propane tank lasted 45 days.  We switched to the 2nd tank tonight.

Tomorrow
TBD
