Day 43 – Dundee, OR (Day 2)

It was a quiet day.

The Route
We just wandered around the area a bit.

About the Day
Last night was cool and rainy. It got down to 50°. The furnace was comforting.

The morning started overcast and cool. Some blue sky peeked through around 9 am, but it turned out to be a bit of a tease. Some strong showers passed through between noon and 2 pm.  Light showers continued through the afternoon.  It was a good day for the fire fighters.

We picked William up at daycare and went on a little shopping adventure in Tualatin.

A DQ lunch provided a treat at the end of a “good” first day at daycare and shopping trip.

Our Site
We’re camped at a site with electricity, water and plenty of farmland character.  We’re surrounded by trees, grazing fields, orchards and two energetic grandchildren.

A closer look revealed a Buckeye Tree right behind us.  Kenny (a University of Oregon graduate and avid Duck fan) says he plans to cut the tree down.  Stay tuned.

Farm Life
There are interesting sounds during the day and night.
From a steer (L) and a cow (R).
From sheep
Chickens roam the grounds, too.  They're pretty quiet.  None were around when the camera was clicking.

Outdoor Living
Kenny is building a tree house that may evolve into an Airbnb rental.

Car Repair
We’re anxiously awaiting news of parts availability.

10:51 am update – All parts are on order.  ETA is Thursday.  They are trying to complete the repair this week.  We’ll receive the next update on Wednesday.

Tomorrow
We’re going to the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum with Eric Witchey.
