Day 41 – Portland, OR (Day 8)

It was cloudy this morning with smoke in the air and ash on the cars.  The smoke haze stayed with us all day.  We think it's from the Eagle Creek Fire along I-84 in the Columbia Gorge.

The Route
None.

About the Day
It cleared some and made it into the high-70s.

Tim worked all day as a server at the church’s first annual ladies tea.  He joined us (in uniform) at Thanh Thao Restaurant.
I'm confused.  This doesn't
match the setting at the tea.
So, Elizabeth invited the "wait staff" to dinner.

Elizabeth worked in the morning.

Carol, Elizabeth and Anna went shopping in the afternoon.

Dick “watched” the Ohio State vs. Army game using ESPN’s Gameday internet program.  It’s not the best way, but it’s better than reading about it afterward.  The 38-7 OSU victory made it seem worthwhile.

We gathered for a family dinner.
What a crew!
Carol, William, Kenny, Barbara, Tim, Elizabeth, Lucy, Anna
They are a serious lot.
Even William got in on the glasses thing.
Lucy (2nd grade) looks like a junior executive.
Lucy & Anna are buddies.

Tomorrow
We’ll move to Barbara and Kenny’s in Dundee after church.
