It’s 2017 and time for our 13th long trip.
We’ve pondered where to go and decided on a return to the
southwest. As evident by having touched
on parts of it during six previous trips, we like it there. The destination was obvious in the titles of
our 2008-Texas, 2009-Southwest and 2013-West trips. We found our way there during our 2010-Northwest,
2012-Midwest and 2015-Oregon trips also.
So, why go to the southwest during a year they’re
experiencing a heat wave? Good
question. We installed a new air
conditioner last fall … maybe we’re over confident. We’re drawn to the wilderness, the open
range, the mountains, the history and the mystique. Did I mention we like it there?
We plan to leave in early August.
