Day 6 – Drasco, AR to Lake Village, AR

Today was a beautiful day for travel … if your air conditioner is working.

The Route
We took AR-5 south from Jim & Bobbie’s house to US-67 northeast of Little Rock, southwest on US-67 to US-65 in Little Rock, and then south on US-65 to Lake Village.  It was a 202 mile trip to the southeastern corner of Arkansas.

About the Day
The day was calm and mostly sunny with temperatures reaching the low 90s.  The temperature was 86°F with humidity of 65% in Lake Village at 6:30pm.  The trailer air conditioner is working well.

About the Morning
We woke at 8am and casually prepared to leave.  Jim & Bobbie prepared a wonderful breakfast (yup … more eating).  We chatted and told more stories (most were true) as we worked at delaying the inevitable.  Then, it was time to say goodbye.

We pulled out at 11:15 am.

About the Drive
The highways were a bit rough through the cities.  Rural highways were in good condition.

We enjoyed country scenes during most of the journey today.  There are many large cotton and corn fields south of Little Rock. We saw an AG plane.

The Campground
We’re staying at Pecan Grove RV Park

The campground is located a few miles south of Lake Village, across US-65 from Lake Chicot. The grounds and facilities are dated.  All site services (water, electric, cable TV, and sewer) are up-to-date and work well.

Tomorrow
We’re heading toward Lake Charles, LA.
