What
a difference a day makes. It was sunny
all day and it seemed like every experience was a special treat.
The Route
We took I-65S through Louisville to the TN-155 outer belt (Briley
Parkway) in northern Nashville. We
followed TN-155 east and got off at McGavock Pike. The campground was on Music City Drive (a service
road alongside TN-155). We travelled 177
miles.
About the Day
The night was comfortably cool.
We awoke well rested and eager for a new day. The time change gave us an extra hour to
enjoy.
We took time to learn more about and reflect on last night’s campground.
It’s nearly full with employees working
at a new Amazon Fulfillment Center. It wasn’t
fancy, but it provided a pleasant stay.
Site #46 - Louisville North Campground |
We left Louisville around 10:20 am (Eastern) and arrived in Nashville at 2:40 pm (Central). The drive through Kentucky was delightful.
Though we stayed on I-65, there were sightseeing opportunities in
every direction. Louisville Cardinals
football stadium, Derby Downs, Lincoln’s home, Mammoth Cave, Horse Cave, Fort
Knox, National Corvette Museum … and the list goes on and on.

Denny’s
We enjoy meeting people and our best experiences come from
campgrounds and restaurants. Denny’s was our source today. We were drawn there by the similar looks of the
diner and the Airstream.
Our server was delightful (e.g. funny and attentive).
One of the owners stopped by our table to welcome us. He was a gracious, southern gentleman who
seemed interested in where we were from and where we were going.
The Campground
We’re staying at Two Rivers
Campground. It’s within a few blocks
of the Grand Old Opry, Opryland Hotel, and the Opry Mills Mall.
It’s a nice campground with friendly staff.
Tomorrow
We’re heading for the Natchez
Trace Parkway and Tupelo, MS.
